Our college botanical garden is located at the entrance of our college and it provides a scenic and pleasurable view to those who entre our campus, College botanical garden has total area of 25650 sq. ft. and it is drip irrigated to conserve water. There are different varieties plants from herbs to tree planted all over it areas.
It has a shade-net at northeast corner of 800 Sq.ft. It is used for developing new plantlets of medicinal and other garden plants like ornamentals etc. The shade-net is fitted with sprinklers and foggers to create appropriate environment form new plant to grow.
An area of around 8000 Sq.ft is dedicated to medicinal plants only. These medicinal plants are used as mother plants to create new plantlets.
Each medicinal plant are tagged with their botanical names, vernacular names and families which help students and visitors to identify them.
Our botanical garden acts for Conservation and propagation of plants, it also Resource Centre of live plants. We Maintain Indigenous and exotic plant species for study and it acts as an education and Conservation center for students and Public. We have collection of some rare species, we also maintain different plant species from different agro climatic regions.
We use this live plant in exchange of seeds, plants and other planting materials to individuals and other institutions. College botanical garden provide recreation facilities to the students and public in general and exposing them to different hands on learning like potting, grafting, cutting and compost preparations.
